Alternate US Flags: Nebraska

The wagon wheel represents the many historic trails which were blazed across Nebraska, while the state motto of "Equality before the law" is represented by wheel's symmetry. The gold colour symbolises Nebraska's nickname of the "Cornhusker State" and goldenrod, the state flower, while the blue colour symbolises the Platte River, also known as the Nebraska River, from which the state takes its name. Gold and blue also recall the colours of France and Spain, the two colonial nations which claimed the area as part of Louisiana.
